There’s really no real story - more of an excuse to ferry the Hulk from location to location where he has to fight a plethora of baddies. The Incredible Hulk begins with a comic-style intro with animated comic book panels showing Bruce Banner turning into the Hulk and with that, we’re in the game. As far as I know, there’s no significant difference between the two versions. The game appeared on both the Genesis and Super Nintendo, but we’ll be looking at the Sega version today. Today’s specimen is The Incredible Hulk, released by notoriously bad publisher U.S. Other than Batman, there has to be something good…right? But being the masochist that I am, I’ll continue to slog through the 8- and 16-bit comic book adaptations looking for something good. Its sad that the best “superhero” game I’ve played so far has been Boogerman. So far this year I’ve reviewewed Wolverine Adamantium Rage, Silver Surfer, Spider-man X-men Arcade’s Revenge and Superman and each have been mediocre to terrible. Retro games based off comic books have not been too kind to me.
